| 'Cortina 2.0 Crusader' |
 |
I bought this car as another daily driver having decided to swap it for my Rover 600 Diesel and take away a cheque for £1200 and the Crusader. The car turned out to be utterly reliable;
as I remember Cortina's to be and we took it for a holiday to Scotland and I'm pleased to say it didn't miss a beat, however it did highlight the absence of a 5th gear. I decided to carry out a conversion
on the car to install a 5 speed gearbox, how I did it can be read here
.
This car had been Ziebarted from new and had protected the car extremly well, except for where the rear panel meets the boot floor
where the Ziebart treatment was either missing or the panel had been replaced. Ziebart is a wax injection treatment done to a new car where holes are drilled and the wax injected, all cavities are done
and the holes plugged with little black or in this case yellow plastic plugs. It really works well and I have come accross this before, in fact I actually look for it when buying cars.
This car is now happily living in Glasgow having been sold via Ebay.
